Bryce Panic / Better Bizness Bureau

Bryce Panic is a groove machine. Whether it’s creating a sexy backbeat for The Blow, multitracking a murga rhythm or choir with Mirah, whipping an audience of revelers into a feverish bliss at the first Old Time Relijun shows, constructing math pop with Matt Steinke (of Mocket & Octant), providing intuitive rhythmic and vocal support for Rebecca Pearcy’s tender guitar and voice, improvising head to head with Arrington de Dionyso or jumping onstage at a Sandman show to beatbox on the fly, he is the go-to collaborator for live sets and recording for many musicians in Olympia, WA and beyond. You may have seen him during the past year in your town singing and playing drums, glockenspiel (!) and kalimba (!!) with Mirah, or opening up for Old Time Relijun. In his current project he produces and raps with the multicoastal hip hop crew Better Bizness Bureau. Panic lives in Portland, Oregon, while fellow rappers B-Wanna and Jam Master B live in Chicago and Buenos Aires, respectively. Their debut album, “Bryce Panic Presenta—Better Bizness Bureau”, was recorded almost entirely in Argentina and combines complex lyrics and a wide array of unconventional backing tracks. It will be released in December, and Panic will be touring solo to support it, performing all the parts. This project has been incubating since the days of Doug E. Fresh and Run D.M.C., where a young Bryce Panic and B-Wanna (nee Bert Stabler) could be found breakdancing in the cafeteria and waging rap battles in the middle school bathroom. Panic brings to his live show a couple lifetimes’ worth of performance cred, having played every type of music venue from intimate basement shows to massive festivals. He believes in the power of the dance party.
