Liturgy
Liturgy is a four piece band from Brooklyn, New York that plays black metal influenced extreme metal. The band released their debut LP Renihilation on 20 Buck Spin in August of 2009. Their sound derives from a similar place as their NYC brethren Krallice and Norway’s Ulver during their Nattens Madrigal period. A clear influence from NYC’s downtown scene of old, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham, et al can also be discerned in Liturgy’s extreme chaos. In October of 2009 they played the annual New Yorker Festival in NYC along with non-metal acts such as Dirty Projectors. The band appeals to listeners both within and without the metal world. They plan to tour the US and abroad throughout 2010.
