The Oregon Donor

The Oregon Donor

“With songs ranging from twee indie pop to nearly raucous pop punk, the Oregon Donor is a bit of an anomaly. The band doubles as a solo project for Christopher Edwards and a four piece comprised of Edwards (vocals/guitar), Lance Umble (vocals/guitar), Jesse Cohen (bass), and Kyle Holland (drums). Edwards has released four albums as the Oregon Donor (Murder Mountain), employing instruments as diverse as flute and drum machine to create precious yet melancholy pop, a mellowed out version of bands like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Xiu Xiu, and Architecture in Helsinki. He makes a smooth transition from solo artist to frontman for the Oregon Donor as a full band. Together, they play well-written songs, highlighting angular guitar lines (Daniel Kessler of Interpol fame, beware) and sweet, stand-out vocals. They’re catchy without being obnoxious, and they refuse to play for crowds who won’t dance. With their literate lyrics, memorable songs, and fan-oriented attitude, The Oregon Donor will, without a doubt, make it into the hearts of Pacific Northwest hipsters.” – Sena Kim

A statement from the band:
“hi. we love you more.
we know what it’s like to be a person.
because you are a person too.
let’s continue being persons.”
